Vesper American Brasserie

SH003

Borrowing its name from one of James Bond’s choice-cocktails, Vesper American Brasserie is a mix of ‘50s glamour and mysterious charm. An ode to an era that defined American culture; notes of exclusivity, seduction and salacious comfort food waft throughout this casual fine dining escape. A morning visit to Vesper invites guests to its indoor café. Request a table al fresco, and greet the day with a warm espresso by the sea. As night approaches, Vesper transitions into an elite dining spot, with seating options inside the dark, rustic brasserie or poolside accompanied by salty air and candlelight. American wines and mood music set the scene for a well-rounded dining experience at South Beach’s newest epicurean hot spot.

Pizza Bar

pizza bar logo

Pizza Bar is part take-out counter, part trendy pizza joint. Sand-colored brick walls, a refined wooden bar and flat screens that endlessly loop movies starring Pacino or De Niro create a polished vibe. Baker Vito Giovinco is in charge of this Miami-style slice. With full-sleeve tats and a coif that would make the Fonz blush, he’s a Sicilian pizza man with a Bensonhurst bent. His 30-inch pies have a uniformly thin crust topped with San Marzano tomato sauce and are baked in a slate oven for a golden finish.

From Menin Hotels, the South Beach based group behind Shelborne, Sanctuary, and the soon to be opened Gale (opening December 2012), brings us drumBAR, a rooftop lounge resting on top of their Raffaello Hotel in the Gold Coast. Think Miami meets Speakeasy. The interior will be dark lit, rich woods, a fireplace, cozy seating, and a long beautiful bar. Two ceiling high arched doors will lead you to the main deck, where the outside oasis awaits with banquet style and lounge seating, views of the lake, and where cocktailing is the name of the game. Small plates will be available and the beverage program is described as “classic cocktails redefined.” If a more casual vibe is what you’re looking for a second patio awaits equipped with grills and a more casual ambiance. Don’t forget the music! The space is equipped for Djs inside and out.
